Collection: The Atelier

Created by Cape Town artist Amy Ayanda Lester, The Atelier is a collection of original South African art spanning oil painting, acrylic painting, monotype printmaking, and mixed media. This collection comprises all available original artworks by Amy Ayanda, made locally in her home studio in Cape Town, South Africa.

Her practice explores themes of memory, landscape, family history, emotional inheritance, and imagined worlds within the South African context. Rooted in both abstraction and observation, these works draw inspiration from the natural landscape, archival imagery, botanical forms, and personal narrative. Through layered colour, expressive mark-making, and intuitive composition, Amy creates emotionally driven contemporary art that sits between landscape painting, abstraction, and figurative expression.

The collection includes original paintings, mixed media works on paper, and the Swartberg Collection, an ongoing body of work rooted in the landscapes and memory of the Swartberg region. A new limited edition fine art print collection launches in July 2026.
